Brooks Culley, age 75, of 408 Hunt Road, New Castle, passed away the afternoon of March 3, 2016 in Cape Canaveral Hospital in Florida. Born May 1, 1940 in Pittsburgh, he was a son of Dr. Andrew W. and Eleanore Brooks Culley. Surviving at home is his wife of 23 years, Kathleen R. Wagner Culley, whom he married June 9, 1992. After his 1958 graduation from Beaver High School, he attended the University of Pittsburgh to obtain his Bachelor's Degree, graduating in 1964. Brooks began employment at Sears and Roebuck as a merchandise manager, and then became the owner of Culley Distributing Company. More recently he was the owner and operator of both Union Self-Storage and Croton Self-Storage Units. He was a former trustee of New Castle Elks #69, and enjoyed hunting and golf. He was of Methodist faith. In addition to his wife, he is survived by one son, Scott B. Culley of New Castle; two step-sons, V. Michael Lough of Pittsburgh, and Robert M. Lough of New Castle; one brother, William Culley of Summit Point, W.Va; and three grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Debbie A. Culley; and one brother, Robert Culley. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road, New Castle. A funeral service will take place on Friday at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. John Yergan officiating. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery.
