Claudia Giddings, age 83, of Shenango Twp., passed away the afternoon of Jan. 4, 2022, at UPMC Horizon Hospital, in Farrell, Pa. Born Oct. 13, 1938, in New Castle, she was the daughter of the late Alexander W. and Lillian (Neal) Nelson. Claudia was a graduate of New Castle High School. For several years, she was employed at Bell Telephone Company until she became a fulltime homemaker, after her children were born. Claudia enjoyed crossword puzzles and spoiling her beloved cat "Murphy". What gave Claudia the most joy in life, was the time she spent with her grandsons, Logan and Parker. Survivors include her children, Amy Giddings and David Giddings, both of New Castle; one sister, Joyce (Bill) Stunkard of New Castle; and two grandchildren, Logan and Parker Giddings, both of New Castle; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Claudia was preceded in death by two sisters, Norma Amalong and Beverly Panarella and three brothers, Neil Nelson, Richard "Dick" Nelson, and Robert "Bob" Nelson. In keeping with her wishes there will be no visitation or services. Arrangements have been entrusted to the R.
