David R. Middendorf, 69, of New Castle, passed away peacefully on May 15, 2019, surrounded by his family. He was the son of the late Floyd and Helen Louise (Hovis) Middendorf. David was a Vietnam Veteran serving in the United States Navy from 1969-1972. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Jennifer (Bruner) Middendorf and their four children, David (Lorie) Middendorf, Stacey (Cliff) Lessnau, Melissa (Steve) LaPlace, Ashley (Taiwan) Talley and seven grandchildren. Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by one sister, Carole Brooks. Visitation will be held Monday, May 20th from 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home & Crematory Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road, New Castle. A service will be held, immediately following visitation, at 12:00 PM with Pastor Chuck Fombelle of Calvary Independent Church, officiating.
