Dominic Crist, age 80, of 104 Locust Drive, Industry, PA, passed away the morning of May 1, 2015 at Heritage Valley Health System in Beaver, PA.
Born December 31, 1934 in New Castle, he was a son of Dominic B. and Helen Cooper Crist.
He was preceded in death in September, 1998 by his wife, Marlene Golff Crist.
Surviving at home is his companion of 15 years, Patricia Tiberio.
He attended Hillsville Elementary and was a graduate of the former Bessemer High School.
He served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict.
Prior to his retirement as a plate maker at New Castle Battery, Dominic was employed as a light machinist at Carbon-Limestone and a laborer with the powder plant in Edinburg.
He was a member of the Johnson Club, Bessemer Croatian Club and the Circle of Friends of New Brighton and Baden SOI of New Brighton.
Among his many interests, he enjoyed dancing, cooking and baking. Dominic was a caregiver for his neighbor and friend, Mike Devich of Ohioville.
A former member of Mary Mother of Hope Parish, he was an active member at St. Blaise Church in Midland.
In addition to his companion Patricia, he is survived by two brothers, John "Whitey" (Pamela) Crist and Joe (Phyllis) DeCristoforo all of New Castle; two sisters, Julie Kutlesa of New Middletown, Ohio and Helen (Frank) Vitto of New Castle; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, and one brother, Anthony Crist.
Visitation will be held on Sunday from 2:00-6:00 p.m. at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road, New Castle.
A procession will leave the funeral home Monday morning at 10:30 for a Mass of Christian Burial at Mary Mother of Hope at 11:00 a.m. with Father Larry Adams officiating.
Burial will be in Madonna Cemetery.
