Dorothy Mae Bromley, age 104, of New Castle went to be with her Lord and Savior the morning of January 14, 2017 at Golden Hill Nursing Home. Born in New Castle on December 8, 1912, she was a daughter of W. A. and Mary Camilla Tanner Sadler. She was preceded in death on November 13, 1997 by her husband, Thomas J. Bromley. They were married July 25, 1935. Dorothy was a homemaker who enjoyed spending time with her family. She was a life member of First Church of God where she was a Sunday School teacher for over 50 years and a member of the missionary society. Dorothy loved reading and crocheting. She enjoyed making many afghans that she gave away as gifts to her many close friends and family. Survivors include one daughter, Mary Lou (Jerry) Garver of New Castle; three sons, Arlo L. (Esther) Bromley of Stanford, Kentucky, Thomas C. (Nancy) Bromley of Danville, Kentucky, and Donald J. (Barb) Bromley of New Castle; nine grandchildren; and twelve great grandchildren and five great great grandchildren. Besides her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by one brother, James Sadler; three sisters, Alberta Mitchell, Helen Sadler, and Della Wilson; one grandson, Jerry W. Garver; and a great grandson, Justin J. Garver. Visitation will be from Tuesday from 5-8 pm at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road, New Castle. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 11:00 am at the First Church of God, 12 West Euclid Avenue, New Castle with Rev. William Hunley officiating. Burial will be in Oak Park Cemetery.
