Eloise M. Weir, age 96, of New Castle, passed away May 21, 2019, at her residence. Born June 8, 1922, in Gettysburg PA, Eloise was the daughter of the late Lewis and Edna (Singley) Richstine. She was married to David R. Weir, Sr., who preceded her in death on April 23, 1998. Eloise was a graduate of Gettysburg Area High School. Mrs. Weir was a district manager and supervisor for the Avon Corporation. Later in life, Eloise, was the owner of Weir's Perennial Gardens. She was very active in the Shenango Township Garden Club and was a member of Savannah United Methodist Church. Eloise is survived by her children; William Godwin of Phoenix, AZ, Dr. Edward H. Salmon of Millville New Jersey, Paralee Winstel of New Oxford, PA, Gregory Weir of New Castle, PA, David R. Weir, Jr. of New Castle, PA and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 25, 2019, at 4:00 PM at Savannah Methodist Church, 84 Savannah Gardner Road, New Castle, PA, 16101, with Rev. Matthew Bupp, officiating.
