Richard H. Deinert, 75, of Frew Mill Road, New Castle, passed away the evening of March 30, 2014 at his residence.Born January 5, 1939 in Pittsburgh, he was a son of Walter and Norma Blisk Deinert.He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Patricia Wimer Deinert, whom he married December 17, 1960.A graduate of Slippery Rock High School, he went on to serve in the U.S. Army from 1961-1963 with the rank of Corporal.Richard was employed as a lathe operator with Flowline Corp. for over 38 years, retiring in 2003.He played baseball with the North County League and with the Flaherty Slow Pitch Softball League. He enjoyed golf and was a fan of both the Pittsburgh Pirate's and Steelers. Among his other interests were jig-saw puzzles and gardening. Richard was active in his son's lives, enjoying watching them play baseball and football throughout their school years.A member of Christ Lutheran Church, he served as a former trustee.In addition to his wife, he is survived by three sons, Michael (Gaynell) Deinert of Lusby, MD, Matthew (Aimee) Deinert of Ellwood City, and Stephen Deinert of New Castle; one brother, Robert (Eileen) Deinert of Grove City; five grandchildren, Christopher, Laura, Thomas, Aislinn and Maddison; and one great-grandson, Samuel.He was preceded in death by his parents; his step-father, Lem Black; one sister, Carol Hilovsky, and one brother, Jeffrey Deinert.There will be no calling hours.
