Shirley Ann Reed, age 95, of New Castle, passed away the evening of July 30, 2018, at Carriage Manor. Born March 21, 1923, in New Castle, she was the daughter of the late Byron and Melissa (Nelson) Wimer. She married Kenneth Reed on August 22, 1945. He preceded her in death on October 3, 2011. Shirley was a graduate of Eastbrook High School. She worked for G.C. Murphy's for four years and was also a homemaker. She took pride in tending her home and enjoyed family, sewing, painting and baking. She was a member of Castlewood CMA church. Shirley is survived by two daughters; Linda L. Dean and Donna J. Emery, both of New Castle, four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Along with her parents and husband, preceding her in death are son; Larry B. Reed, sister Dorothy, and brother; Gerald Wimer. In keeping with Shirley's wishes, there will be no visitation. A memorial service will be held in Shirley's honor on Sunday, August 5th, 2:30 PM at Castlewood CMA Church with the Rev. Jim O'Hara and Rev. Matthew Bupp officiating. Burial will be at Eastbrook Presbyterian Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to the R.
