William A. "Art" Hurd, Sr., 64, passed away on July 6, 2018, at his residence in Uniontown, Pa. Born in New Castle on Nov. 14, 1953, he was the son of the late William R. and Donna Jean Sherman Hurd. He was a self-employed artist and owner of Art's Signs. He attended First Christian Church in New Castle. He is survived by two sons, William A. (Maria) Hurd II of Ellwood City, Pa., and Eric (Ashley) Jewell of Goose Creek, S.C.; two daughters, Amy (John) Metz of New Castle and Tiffany (Ryan) Washa of Annapolis, Md.; two brothers, George Hurd and Mitch McClimans, both of New Castle; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his stepfather, William Harry McClimans, and one brother, Bill McClimans. Visitation and services will be held at the family's convenience.
