Adelaide C. Feil, age 101, formerly of Shenango Township, passed away the morning of Jan. 20, 2020 at Jameson Care Center. Born August 31, 1918, in New Castle, she was the daughter of the late George W. and Margaret (Seamans) Cartwright. She married Fredrick H. Feil on August 10, 1940. He preceded her in death on October 4, 2011. Adelaide attended the New Castle Area School District. She worked at Hazel's Looking Glass and retired from the polishing room at Shenango Pottery. She enjoyed ceramics, painting, bingo and taking day trips from Jameson Care Center. She also enjoyed spending time with her family. Adelaide attended Trinity Episcopal Church. Adelaide is survived by one son Fredrick L. (Cathy) Feil of New Castle, PA; one brother-in-law, Ross E. (Carol) Feil of New Castle; two grandchildren, Dyann (Dale) Marlowe and Fredrick L. Feil II; seven great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Along with her parents and husband, Adelaide was preceded in death by four sisters, Louise Vogus, Josephine Van Horn, and twin sisters, Hilda & Wilda; and three brothers, Morgan, Clifford & James Cartwright. Visitation will be held on Thurs. Jan. 23rd from 1:00 -3:00 p.m. at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road, New Castle. A service will take place immediately following visitation at 3:00 pm, with Rev. Erin Betz Shank officiating. Burial will be at Graceland Cemetery.
