Adelaide 'Addie' Ruth Reitz, age 95, of New Castle, passed away the early morning of May 1, 2024, at her residence.

Born Nov. 8, 1928, in Abington, PA, she was the daughter of the late Isaiah B. and Martha E. (Miller) Hickey.

She married Bill F. Reitz. He preceded her in death on March 19, 1994.

Addie worked as a personnel supervisor, employed by K-Mart for 17 years, until her retirement in 1985. Among some of her varied interests, Addie loved sewing, crocheting and animals. To her, she valued family above anything else. She treasured the times she was able to spend with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was of the Christian Faith.

Survivors include three daughters, Patricia Strayer, of New Castle, PA, with whom she resided for 30 years, Linda Grass of New Mexico, and Marilyn (Tom) Grant of St. Cloud, MN; one brother, Harvey Hickey of CA; two sisters, Terri Milot of FL, and Doris Dean of New Castle, PA; six grandchildren and twenty great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband Addie was preceded in death by one sister, Louise Mihok and two brothers, John 'Jack' and Bryan Hickey.

Visitation will be held on Sat. May 4th from 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road, New Castle.

A funeral service will take place, at the funeral home, immediately following visitation at 3:00 PM, with Rev. Tom Grant, officiating.
