Alan L. Weingartner, 64, of New Castle, passed away the morning of May 19, 2013 at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital. Born June 25, 1948, in New Castle, he was a son of Melvin and Edna Steinbach Weingartner.He was a graduate of Neshannock High School and Clarion University. Alan was a teacher for the Mohawk School District. He was an avid golfer, previously playing on both his high school and college golf teams.He is survived by his daughter, Alison Weingartner; a brother Perry Weingartner; and a sister, Kathleen Weingartner. He was preceded in death by his parents. There will be a graveside service at Slippery Rock Presbyterian Cemetery, Ellwood City, on Thursday, May 23, 2013, at 2:00 p.m. The Rev. Andrew Jillson of Northminster Presbyterian Church will officiate. Arrangements are by the R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc. of New Castle.
