Alice P. Bartley, 83, of New Castle, passed away the morning of April 25, 2019 at UPMC Jameson Hospital. Born December 6, 1935 in New Castle, she was the daughter of Ross C. and Jeannette (Banks) Palmer. She was preceded in death on July 12, 2000 by her husband of 48 years, Irl Leslie Bartley, whom she married on December 14, 1951. Alice was an aide with Personal Care Service and a loving foster parent to many children, including Toni Tanner (Gary) and Terry Turney. She is survived by three daughters, Sharon Smith (James), Darlene Vaughn, both of New Castle, and Cheryl Carson; two sons, David Bartley (Lisa) and John Bartley of New Castle; one daughter-in-law, Diane Bartley; 8 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by one son, Leslie C. Bartley and one daughter, Brenda Ann Bartley. Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 27, from 10:00-12:00 at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road, New Castle. A funeral service will take place immediately following visitation Saturday at 12:00 at the funeral home with Pastor David Drake officiating. Burial will be in Neshannock Presbyterian Cemetery.
