Alice May Gallaher, 79, of New Castle, passed away the morning of May 29, 2019 at her residence. Born September 28, 1939 in New Castle, she was the daughter of Chester L. and Margaret A. (Perkins) Brest. She was preceded in death by her husband, Merle L. Gallaher. Alice was a homemaker and enjoyed Bingo, playing cards and dice, but most of all loved being with her family. She is survived by three daughters, Vickie Miles, Cynthia Shaffer and Deanna Maggio, all of New Castle; two sons, Butch Gallaher and Tom Quear, both of New Castle; three brothers, Herb Brest, Ralph Brest and Chuck Brest, all of New Castle; 9 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Sharon Gallaher; three brothers, Jack Brest, Bill Brest and Clayton Brest; and one sister, Dorothy Macri. Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 2, from 2:00-4:00 p.m. at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road.
