Allene Peluso Blayney, 85, of New Castle, passed away the morning of May 1, 2024, at Quality Life Services, New Castle.

Born January 21, 1939, in Castlewood, she was the daughter of Charles and Thelma (Kennedy) St. John.

She is survived by her husband of 30 years, Lester Blayney, whom she married July 17, 1993.

After her graduation from Shenango High School, Allene attended beauty school, leading to her 56 year long career of being a beautician at her own shop, Allene Peluso Beauty Salon.

Allene was an ambassador with the Pine Valley Bible Camp in Ellwood City and a support for the Lawrence County Treatment Court. She also enjoyed square dancing with Paws and Taws and was a member of Castlewood Alliance Church.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by three sons, John "Marty" (Jodi) Peluso, Larry (Brenda) Peluso and Vincent (Janet) Peluso all of New Castle; one step-son, Robert (Angela) Blayney of Greenville, PA; one step-daughter, Melinda (Tim) Brenneman of Ohio; seven grandchildren, five step-grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her previous husband, John L. Peluso; two daughters, Valerie Clingensmith and Jonnie Lynn Peluso; and a granddaughter, Allena Clingensmith.

Visitation will be held on Friday, May 3, from 4:00-6:00 p.m. at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road, New Castle.

A funeral service will take place immediately following the visitation at 6:00 p.m. with Matt Reichart of Pine Valley Bible Camp officiating.

Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery.
