Amiel Attisano, 97, of New Castle, passed away the morning of November 30, 2014 at Golden Hill Nursing Home. Born December 11, 1916 in West Pittsburg, Pa., he was a son of Joseph and Angelina Barella Attisano. He was preceded in death in 1992 by his wife of 51 years, Edith Russo Attisano, whom he married in 1941. He was part of the Civilian Conservation Corps. Mr. Attisano was employed with Blair Strip Steel for 34 years, retiring in 1980. Among his many interests were gardening, hunting, and the outdoors. He was a member of St. Vitus Church. He is survived by one daughter, Deborah (Robert) Babick of New Castle; two sons, Joseph (Katherine) Attisano of Gainesville, GA, and Marc (Florence) Attisano of Bessemer, PA; one brother, Dandy (Helen) Attisano of New Castle; 5 grandchildren; and 6 great­grandchildren. In addition to his parents and his wife, he was preceded in death by 3 brothers, Arthur, Augustine, and Larry Attisano. Private services will held at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc. and were officiated by Ted Saad. Burial was in Castle View Gardens.
