Ann J. Cowmeadow, 95, formerly of E. Oakwood Way, passed away the night of March 15, 2016 at St. Barnabas Nursing Home in Gibsonia, Pa. Born November 19, 1920 in New Castle, she was the daughter of David and Margaret Morris Laurel. She was preceded in death on August 15, 1952 by her first husband, James R. "Bob" Gallagher. She subsequently married James G. Cowmeadow in 1958 who passed away in 1991. Ann was a 1939 graduate of New Castle High School, and was a homemaker, lovingly caring for her five children. She is survived by two daughters, Karen G. and Donald Carletti of New Castle and Christine A. and Mark Sevco of Gibsonia; one son, the Rev. Jeffrey J. and wife Randi Cowmeadow of Minneapolis, MN; 7 grandchildren, Andrew Carletti, Ali Cowmeadow, Kendahl Cowmeadow, Madison Cowmeadow, Nikki Sevco, Julia Sevco and Jack Sevco; and 1 great-grandchild, Ella Carletti. In addition to her parents and both husbands, she was preceded in death by one son, James Gallagher; one daughter, Judith Cowmeadow; 3 brothers, Albert, William and David Laurel; and 3 sisters, Margaret, Rachael, and one infant sister. Visitation will be held on Monday, March 21, from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road, New Castle. A funeral service will take place immediately following visitation Monday at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home with her son, the Rev. Jeffrey Cowmeadow officiating. Burial will be in Oak Park Cemetery.
