Anna Mae Griffiths, 93 of New Wilmington, passed away in her sleep September 23, 2013 at Shenango Presbyterian SeniorCare. Born December 29, 1919 in New Castle, she was a daughter of Andrew C. and Byrdie Hartman Dietterle. Robert Griffiths, Anna Mae's husband preceded her in death September 24, 1994. Anna Mae graduated from New Castle High School and worked as a beautician in former years. She then worked for Saga Food Service at Westminster College where she worked for 17 years. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Wimodausis, Elks Auxiliary and various bridge groups. Anna Mae never had children of her own but was a loving aunt and ""second mother"" to seven nieces, Norma Hoffmaster-Massarelli and her husband Stan of Sarasota, Fla., Deborah W. Davis and her husband Lloyd of Washington, N.C., Barbara Piper-Quinn(deceased), Lauren Lipp and her husband Gregory of Rogers, Ohio, Luola Morrow and husband Robert Morrow of Fox Chapel, PA, Elizabeth W. Campbell of Rocky River, OH and Nancy Whitmer and husband Benjamin of Naperville, IL; and three nephews, Robert White and wife Tracy of Winter Haven, FL, Andy Dietterle and wife Mary of Darien, CT , Todd Dietterle of Frankfort, IL; and numerous great nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents; and husband; she was preceded in death by two sisters Elizabeth D. White and Lillian D Woodworth; and a brother Robert C. Dietterle. On September 28, 2013 at 2:00 PM a small reception will be held and the celebration of her life will begin at 2:30 PM at SPSC in the Community Room. Graveside services will be at Fair Oaks Cemetery, 4242 State Route 208, New Wilmington, PA immediately following the service. The Pastor John Yergan will officiate.
