Anna Virginia Marttala, 93, died the morning of October 18, 2022, at the Avalon Place, New Castle, PA.

Born on November 3, 1928, in New Castle, she was the daughter of the late William and Norma Gibson. She married Harold Marttala on October 7, 1950, who preceded her in death August, 2010, as well as a brother, George Gibson.

Anna was a 1947 graduate of Slippery Rock Township High School and was a wonderful homemaker who had worked at the A&P and Westminster College.

She loved to sew and make crafts but most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family. Her secret to longevity was her daily enjoyment of eating one Klondike, 2 bananas, and graham crackers with peanut butter.

She will be sadly missed by her three daughters; Susan Bowman, Sharon (Doug) Tomczyk, and Andrea (Robert) Hill, and one son, Gary (Lori) Marttala; five grandchildren and six great grandchildren; two sisters, Sally (Jack) Carlson and Barbara Leckwart.
