Obituary

Anna Mae Frances Woodring, 88, formerly of Boston Avenue, entered into rest the afternoon of July 12, 2010 at the Jameson Care Center.She was born February 12, 1922 in New Castle to the late Charles Leroy and Catherine Xavier Devlin Fulkerson. Anna Mae married Kenneth S. Woodring on March 25, 1943. He passed away on November 14, 1996.Anna Mae was a 1940 graduate of New Castle High School. SShe then worked as paymaster for the New Castle School District for 25 years. She was a faithful volunteer for the Crippled Children Association, Red Cross, Jameson Rehab Center and the Jamesdon Hospital information desk. Anna Mae was also the kitchen coordinator for St. John's Lutheran Church where she was a member.Anna Mae is survived by one daughter, Mary F. Pettis of Pittsburgh, PA; one son and one daughter-in-law, John K. and Polly Woodring of New Castle; and three grandchildren.In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by four brothers, David L., Albert J., Alfred R., and Raymond M. Fulkerson; and one sister, Mary A. Delaney.Visitation will be Wednesday, July 14, 2010, from 5-8 p.m. at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road, New Castle and Thursday, July 15, 2010, from 10-11 a.m. at St. John's Lutheran Church, 2601 Highland Avenue, New Castle.A funeral service will take place on Thursday, July 15, 2010 at 11 a.m. at the church. The Rev. Thomas McCurdy will officiate. Burial will be at Castle View Memorial Gardens.Memorial contributions may be made to St. John's Lutheran Church, 2601 Highland Avenue, New Castle, PA 16105.
