Anthony L. Castiglia, 82, of New Castle, passed away the evening of October 4, 2011 at Jameson Hospital.Born December 4, 1928 in Silver Creek, NY, he was a son of Joseph and Margaret Livecchi Castiglia. He was a graduate of Silver Creek High School were he was the captain of the football team and class president and served in the U.S. Navy. Anthony was a self-employed construction worker and spent time as a grape farmer for many years.He is survived by three daughters; one step daughter and their husbands, Toni Lee and Steve Grimm of Brocton, NY, Laura and Chris Masi of New Castle, Wendy and Ron Bullinger of Ballston Spa, NY and Cheryl and Dick Phillips of North Dartmouth, Mass.; one brother, Joe Castiglia of Silver Creek, NY; six grandchildren, Kenny Vedette, Ashley and Eric Stahl, Joshua Masi, Ryan and Drew Bartlett, Jesse Welch, Daniel Schwerk; and four great grandchildren.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Sam Castiglia.Visitation will be held Friday, Oct. 7, 2011, from 6-7 p.m. at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road.A funeral service will be held Friday, Oct. 7, 2011, at 7:00 pm at the funeral home. The Rev. John Yergan will officiate.
