Anthony F. Russo, Sr. went to be with our Lord and Saviour on Thursday, March 1, 2012.He was born on June 12, 1930 in Mahoningtown, the son of the late John J. and Theresa Izzo Russo. He graduated from New Castle High School in 1948 and further educated himself at Youngstown State University.Tony was a industrial engineer at Rockwell International for 27 years. He was a member of St. Camillus Church. Tony enjoyed bowling, cooking, eating and had a lifelong love of automobiles. He also spent many years doing small engine and lawn mower repair. It is rumored that he singlehandedly supported the automobile sales industry in the New Castle Area.He is survived by his sons and daughters-in-law; John J. and Mary Russo of North Huntingdon, Pa, Anthony F., Jr. and Mary Anne Russo, of West Middlesex, Paul F. and Rebecca Russo of New Castle; one daughter; Roseann (Russo) Yoho of New Castle; grandchildren; Teresa (Tristan) Lucchetti, Marie Russo, Angela Russo; great-grandchildren; Rian and Michaelyn Wimer, siblings; Mary Calabrese, Rose Evanowski, Irene Scaramazza, Fr. Francis Russo of Washington D.C., Fr. Reginald Russo of Pittsburgh, Vincent Russo; brother-in-law; Frank (Andrea) DeLuca, Jr.; and sister-in-law; Louise DeLuca. He also leaves behind his special friend and companion, Darlene Bovo.In addition to his parents, he was predeced in death by the love of his life and wife of 49 years, Marie C. DeLuca Russo and his son-in-law, Dale W. Yoho.Calling hours will be held on Sunday, March 4, 2012, from 2-6 p.m. at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home, 2429 Wilmington Road.A Mass of Christian burial will be held at St. Camillus on Monday at 10:00 AM. Father Thomas Lewandowski and Fathers Reginald Russo and Francis Russo, brothers of Tony's, will officiate. Burial will be at St. Lucy Cemetery.
