Arlene Joy Bupp, 76, of Grove City, went to be with her Lord and Savior the morning of March 18, 2020 in UPMC Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh. Born in Daytona Beach, Florida on June 24, 1943, Joy was raised on the mission field in Japan by her missionary parents, Paul and Helen (Gustafson) McGarvey. She studied Christian Education at Nyack College in New York and having a true missionary's heart, she served the Lord as a missionary to Taiwan with her beloved husband. She, along with her life long ministry partner, Rev. Dennis L. Bupp, made missionary journeys to China and because of their love for the Jewish people, ten trips to Israel. Joy played the organ and piano for multiple churches and also enjoyed photography. She was raised in the Christian and Missionary Alliance Denomination. In addition to her husband Dennis, she is survived by one daughter, Miriam (Thomas) Whipple of Beaver Falls, PA; Four sons, Rev. Mark (Shelia) Bupp of Pine Knoll Shores, NC, Rev. Matthew (Debbie) Bupp of New Castle, PA, Michael (Tish) Bupp of Lancaster, PA and Nathaniel (Marjolein) Bupp of Kansas City, MO; one brother, James P. (Beth) McGarvey of Sunrise, FL; one sister, Patricia McGarvey of Toccoa Falls, GA; 16 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, John McGarvey. Due to the unfortunate health crisis within our country, the family will announce a memorial service at a later date. Burial will be at Castle View Cemetery.
