Arlene J. Calhoun, age 91, of New Castle, passed away Oct. 2025 at The Grove Nursing Home.

Bory July 30, 1934, in New Castle, she was the daughter of the late John W. and Pearl (Matthews) Bodendorfer.

She married Robert N. Calhoun on Aug. 24, 1953. He preceded her in death on Feb. 8, 1996.

Arlene worked for Bell Telephone until her children were born. Later she was a rural mail carrier. She was a member of the Liberty Grange, Scott Twp. Fire Department Aux, and the Eintracht Club. She was also a longtime member of Epworth United Methodist Church.

Survivors include two sisters, Joan C. Hammel of Mt. Holly, NJ, and Henrietta Danielson of Mercer, PA.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Terri L. Calhoun and her son, John R. Calhoun, two sisters, Ruth B. Kirk, and Donna J. Grimm.

In keeping with her wishes there are no visitation or services.

Arlene was laid to rest at Castleview Memorial Gardens.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the R. Cunningham Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road, New Castle.
