Audrey I. Douglas, 86, of Neshannock Township, passed away the morning of May 26, 2017 at her residence. Born December 6, 1930 in New Castle, she was the daughter of Harry M. and Esther McCracken Shaffer. Audrey was preceded in death in 1999 by her husband, Charles Douglas. She attended New Castle High School and was a homemaker. Audrey loved working with children and was a past den mother with the Cub Scouts. A member of Evangel Community Church, she was a Sunday school teacher for 34 years and served as a past treasurer. She is survived by three daughters, Darlene Douglas of Portersville, Shirley (Mike) Antoniotti of New Castle, and Charlotte Dunn of Royal, AK; one son, Charles W. Douglas of Edinburg; one brother, Oliver Shaffer of New Castle; two sisters, Mary Vaughn of Youngstown and Jean Morrow of New Castle; 12 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchild. In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Sarah Douglas; one son, Phillip Douglas; and three brothers, Harry and Charles Shaffer and Jack Tindall. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 30, from 1:00-3:00 p.m. and 5:00-7:00 p.m. at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road. A funeral service will take place immediately following visitation Tuesday at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Harry Edenhoffer of Evangel Community Church officiating.
