Barbara J. Gee, 85, formerly of Rhodes Estates in New Castle, passed away the night of January 31, 2016 at Orchard Manor in Grove City. Born June 19, 1930 in West Middlesex, Pa., she was a daughter of John and Barbara Gladich Fister. A graduate of West Middlesex High School, Barbara was employed as a sales clerk for various jewelry stores in New Castle; Perelman's Jewelry, King's Jewelry, and Murawski Jewelers. She was also the secretary for the New Wilmington Borough. Barbara enjoyed both flower and vegetable gardening, cooking, baking, and was an avid reader. She attended First Assembly of God and loved the Lord. She also authored the book, "In the Palm of His Hand". She is survived by two daughters, Julie (Ray) Smith of New Castle, and Pamela (Randy) Brooks of Midlothian, VA; one son, Jack (Kathy) Abranovich of New Castle; one sister, Frances Schosser of West Middlesex; 3 grandchildren, David Brenneman, Shelby Tharpe and Jesse Brooks; 4 great-grandchildren; and her former husband, Don Gee. In addition to her parents and her first husband, John Abranovich, she was preceded in death by 3 brothers and 4 sisters. There will be a one hour visitation Saturday, February 6, from 11:00 to 12:00 with a funeral service immediately following at noon at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road. The Rev. Sam Hill will be officiating.
