Barbara Ann Johnson, age 82, formerly of Neshannock Township, passed away the afternoon of December 15, 2023, at Quality Life Services, New Castle.

Born January 27, 1941, in New Castle, she was the daughter of George C. and Doris B. (Gillette) Johnson.

Barbara worked in retail sales most of her life and was a member of Croton Methodist Church.

Among her many interests, Barbara enjoyed jigsaw puzzles, following all the Pittsburgh sports teams and spending time with family.

She is survived by one daughter, Kathleen A. Nero of New Castle; two sons, Brian A. Nero of Las Vegas, Nevada and Daniel E. (Brenda) Nero of Grove City; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Patti Prueter.

Visitation will be held on Sat. Feb. 17, 2024, from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory, 2429 Wilmington Road, New Castle. A Memorial Service will take place immediately following the visitation at 1:00 PM with the Rev. Richard Nero officiating.

Burial will be in Castle View Cemetery.
