Barbara L. McEwen, 56, of New Wilmington, PA, passed away the morning of April 13, 2014 at her residence.Born April 12, 1958 in New Castle, she was a daughter of the late Clarence W. McCormick, and Katherine Hoplight McCormick who survives in New Castle.Barb is survived by her husband of 35 years, Brad D. McEwen, whom she married March 6, 1979.She was a 1976 graduate of Neshannock High School.Barb was the manager of a S & H Green Stamp Store, a group supervisor for Liberty Mutual Insurance, and was co-owner of McEwen Garage Doors along side her husband. An active member of Northminster Presbyterian Church, she served as a deacon, past president of the deacon board, and loved volunteering for several church activities.Among her many interest were painting, cross stitch, reading, and playing Scrabble. Barb had a compassionate heart for animals, and loved taking care of all her pets.In addition to her husband and her mother, she is survived by two sisters, Susan K. Phipps and her companion Tom Cox, and Janice E. Russo and her husband Mark all of New Castle; two brothers, Clarence W. McCormick and wife Joan, and Theodore L. McCormick and wife Ellen, all of New Castle.Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 17, 2014, from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road, New Castle.A funeral service will take place on Friday, April 18, 2014, at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home and will be officiated by Rev. Anthony J.
