Barbara M. Romaine, age 86, of New Castle, passed away the afternoon of Feb. 19, 2024, at Quality Life Services – New Castle.

Born Feb. 25, 1937, in Philadelphia, PA, she was the daughter of the late George J. and Marian E. (McCaig) Blair.

On June 26, 1971, she married her beloved husband of 52 years, Rev. Blanchard Romaine III. He survives at home.

Barbara was a graduate of Lower Merion High School. She went on to further her education, graduating from Cairn University and Columbia International University. For several years Barbara was a teacher in New Jersey. She loved sending notes of encouragement to the women in her church as well as in her bible study. She was a faithful member of Hillcrest Presbyterian Church in America.

Along with her husband, Barbara is survived by one sister, Joan (Raymond) Kershaw of Maple Glen, PA.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and one brother, George J. Blair, Jr.

Visitation will be held on Wed. Feb. 21st from 4:00 PM - 8:00 PM at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road, New Castle.

A service will take place on Thurs. Feb. 22nd, at 10:00 AM at Hillcrest Presbyterian Church in America, 5114 Perry Highway, Volant, PA 16156 with Rev. Steve Richman, officiating.
