Barbara J. Speed, 82, formerly of Hunters Woods, passed away the morning of July 6, 2011 at Greer House.Born July 4, 1929 in New Castle, she was a daughter of Howard F. and Isabelle Samuels Wilson.She married David G. Speed on July 23, 1947. He preceded her in death on May 5, 2010.She was employed as a legal secretary, working for a number of local attorneys over the years.Barb was a member and Past Matron of Eaatern Star #105, a member of Wimodausis where she also served on the Board of Directors, Mother Advisor for the Rainbow Board, and member of the Butler County Amateur Radio Association.She was a member of First Christian Church where she was a former deacon.She is survived by two sons, David L. Speed of Carlsbad, NM and Robert W. Speed of Cranberry Twp.; and four grandchildren.She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.Visitation will be held on Friday, July 8, 2011, from 4:00-8:00 p.m. and Saturday, July 9, 2011, from 10:00-11:00 a.m. at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., Wilmington Road.A funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 9, 2011, at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home.
