Barbara A. Wingfield, 87, of Haven Convalescent Home, formerly of E. Maitland Lane, passed away the morning of November 20, 2013 at Jameson Hospital. Born January 9, 1926 in New Castle, she was a daughter of Joseph and Mildred Haught Boyd. She was preceded in death on April 29, 1997 by her husband of 50 years, William J. Wingfield, whom she married August 30, 1946. Barbara graduated in January, 1944 from New Castle High School and was a homemaker. She was a member of Epworth Methodist Church. She is survived by her son, Douglas Wingfield of New Castle; and two sisters, Nancy Boyd of New Castle, and Shirley Boyd Mort of Baltimore, MD. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband. A private service will be held Friday at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc. and will be officiated by Rev. Thomas Scott. Burial will be in Castle View Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 3208B Wilmington Road, New Castle, PA 16105, or the New Castle Public Library, 207 E.
