Bernice M. Miller, 94, of New Castle passed away the afternoon of October 13, 2017 at The Grove of New Wilmington.
Born October 25, 1922 in Rose Point, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of L. Sheridan and M. Edith Stoner Stickel. She married Raymond K. Miller on March 8, 1945 whom preceded her in death.
She was a graduate of Princeton High School. She was a clerk at Isalys, wallpapered for others, and enjoyed being a homemaker.
She attended Princeton Memorial Presbyterian Church.
She enjoyed sewing and quilting. Bernice was an excellent seamstress making wedding gowns for her daughters as well as other family members.
She is survived by three daughters, Beverly (Paul) Hall of Harlansburg, Sandra (Ronald) Suchonic of Butler, and Patty (Edwin) Moore of New Castle; one sister-in-law, Nancy Stickel of Princeton; seven grandchildren, Kenneth Hall, Laurie (Jacob) Vorrath, Kevin Hall, Timothy (Glenna) Suchonic, Tracy (Rich) Rankin, Kristene (Scott) Getz, and Bethany (Glenn) Reno; and seven great-grandchildren, Christian Vorrath, Madison Suchonic, Sydnee Suchonic, Tyler Rankin, James Getz, Jenna Getz, and Nicholas Reno.
In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by her step father, Samuel Gongaware; three brothers, William, Gaylord, and Sam Stickel; and three sisters, Ella Majors, Ethel Kline Dick, and Cora Belle Miller.
Visitation will be held from 2:00-4:00 PM and 6:00-8:00 PM on Tuesday at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road.
A funeral service will be Wednesday at 11:00 AM at the funeral home with Rev. John Yergan officiating.
Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery.
