Bertrem P."Bert" Fullwood, 90, of 2212 Audley Avenue, passed away the evening of October 28, 2010 in Golden Hill Nursing Home.Born October 15, 1920 in New Castle, he was a son of Joseph and Margaret Shira Fullwood.He married Mary Lou Hall on April 20, 1945. She survives in New Castle.Bert was a graduate of New Castle High School and attended Geneva College. He served his country during WWII in the U.S. Army with the Military Police.Bert was formerly employed by Shenango Pottery. He then became a police officer of the New Castle Police Department for thirty five years. He was also a driver for E.D. Fee Transfer.He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police.Bert was a member of Clen-Moore Presbyterian Church where he served as an elder and a choir member.Survivors included one son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Cassy Fullwood of New Castle; one daughter, Marilyn Monko of Columbus, OH; one brother, Howard Fullwood of Dothan, AL; three sisters, Phyllis Mann of Dothan, AL, Lillian Tanney also of Alabama, Margaret Waldron of Wadsworth, OH; five grandchildren, Lorraine (Steve) Hyland, Jennifer (Jason) Flores, Brian Simpson, Bobby Fullwood and Kaitlyn Fullwood; three great grandchildren, Brittany Hyland, Brianna Hyland and Ryan Hyland.He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, June Fullwood.Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 30, 2010, from 2:00-6:00 p.m. at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road.A service will be held at 6:00 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 30,a 2010, at the funeral home. The Rev. Chris Weichman will officiate.
