Beryl Ann McClay, age 82, of Ephrata, PA passed away January 6, 2023, at Fairmount Nursing Home in Ephrata, PA.

Born June 23, 1940, in Homestead, PA she was the daughter of Harris & Mary Ann (MacKenzie) Smith.

On July 19, 1969, she married her beloved husband of 41 years, Frank McClay, who preceded her in death on December 5, 2010.

Beryl was a graduate of Laurel High School. She was employed by Union School District as a secretary for 21 years. She was a member of the former First Church of the Nazarene and later attended First Baptist Church. She was a Sunday school teacher and girl scout leader. What gave Beryl the most joy in life, was spending time with her family and talking with friends on the phone.

She is survived by her daughter, Barb (Rob) Smith of Ephrata, PA; niece, Charline (Richard) Coan of Liberty Hills, TX, whom Beryl served as her legal guardian; a sister, Grace Ford of Leander, TX; two grandchildren, Emily and Caleb Smith of Ephrata, PA, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, in-laws, and siblings-in-law.

Visitation will be held on January 13, 2023, from 4-7 p.m. at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road, New Castle.

On Saturday, January 14, 2023, at 11 a.m., a funeral service will be held at the funeral home with Pastor Nathan Doyle officiating.

In lieu of flowers and gifts, memorial contributions may be offered to Peniel Holiness Association where she served on the board for many years.

Burial will be in Oak Park Cemetery.
