Obituary

Beth Ann Lambo, 59, of Franklin passed away on May 10, 2025, at UPMC Northwest after complications with pneumonia. Born on November 5, 1965, in New Castle, she was the daughter of Joseph Lambo and the late Carina (Ciampoli) Lambo.

Although Beth lived with severe autism and struggled to communicate, she had an indelible impact on everyone she met. Her family and caregivers often said that Beth understood the world around her, despite the fact that she couldn't verbalize it. With her light-up-the-room smile, mischievous personality, and infamous side-eye facial expressions, Beth made everyone's days brighter.

Beth was a long-time resident of Polk Center in Polk, where she attended school, took many field trips, and was employed as a member of the center's laundry transport team. She was happiest while swimming, collecting baby dolls, and visiting the canteen for snacks.

She liked all kinds of music, from modern country to The Mamas & the Papas, and had an equally diverse taste in TV shows, as a regular watcher of Friends reruns and the Disney Channel.

More recently, Beth resided at Verland North in Franklin, where she enjoyed time with her housemates and caregivers, especially her sponsor, Jennifer Phillips.

Along with her father, Beth is survived by two sisters, Amy Hawthorne of Saratoga, California, and Dr. Jill (Nathan) Manczka of New Castle; one brother, Jamie (Ann-Margaret) of Canton, Ohio; and five nieces and nephews, Ann Therese Lambo, Paul Lambo, Max Hawthorne, Joseph Manczka and Lucas Hawthorne.

Beth adored many of her caregivers at Polk Center and Verland. The family wishes to thank them for their compassion and kindness, particularly during Beth's recent illness.

Beth was preceded in death by her mother, Carina Lambo, and brother-in-law, Paul Hawthorne.
