Bette J. Hilton, 60, of Greentree Circle, passed away the night of Jan. 11, 2010, with her family at her bedside.Born Jan. 31, 1949, in New Castle, she was the daughter of Maynard and Betty Brown Riggans. They survive in New Castle.She married Clement J. Hilton on Feb. 3, 1968. He survives.Bette was a teacher with the New Castle Area School District. She received a bachelor's and master's degrees in education from Slippery Rock University.She was a member of St. Mary Church of Mary, Mother of Hope Parish.In addition to her parents and husband, survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Christie Hilton and Kevin Graves of Pittsburgh; two sons and daughters-in-law, Jason and Sally Hilton of New Castle, and Clement J. and Paula Hilton of Howell, N.J.; four grandchildren; a brother, Thomas Riggans of New Castle; and two sisters, Bonnie Carl of California, and Patricia Hutchenson of New Castle.She was preceded in death by a grandson, Jason Hilton Jr.Visitation is 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 14, 2010, at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road.A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 15, 2010, at St. Mary Church, 117 N. Beaver St., with the Rev.
