Betty Jane Evans, 90, of Neshannock Township, passed away the morning of May 29, 2014 at Jameson Hospital North.Born May 31, 1923 in Morgantown, WV, she was the daughter of Allan A. and Nellie Smith McCloskey.Betty married William A. Evans, Jr.on September 20, 1943. He passed away on April 2, 1993.She worked at Shenango Pottery trimming in the gold room.Betty enjoyed reading, TV, and playing the organ.A member of Calvary Independent Church, she also sang in the church choir.Betty is survived by her daughter, Ruth Ann Hammond of New Castle; her son and daughter-in-law, Russell A. and Barbara Evans of New Castle; four grandchildren; and six great grandchildren.In addition to her parents, and husband, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Fred, Donald, Allan and James McCloskey; and a sister, Jean Annabelle Liberty.In keeping with Betty's wishes, there will be no visitation or service.Burial in Oak Park cemetery will be private.Arrangements are by the R.
