Betty J. Richardson, age 85 of Neshannock Twp., passed away the early morning of Jan. 10, 2021, at her son's residence. Born Nov. 19, 1935, in New Castle, she was the daughter of the late Eugene and Marjorie (Fisher) Walker. She was married to William Richardson. He preceded her in death. Betty was a graduate of New Castle High School and Westminster College, where she earned her undergraduate degree. She then went on to study at YSU, earning her master's in psychology and Clinical Counseling. Betty was a clinical counselor and taught human development and child psychology to nursing students. More recently, she was the Director of Mental Health at Westminster College. She loved to write poetry and was very strong in her faith. She was a lifetime member of Northminster Presbyterian church. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Betty's caregivers for their exceptional care that they have given to Betty. Betty is survived by her sons, Robert (Kim) Richardson of New Castle and Charles (Kim) Richardson of Richmond, VA; one daughter-in-law, Colleen Richardson, of Boardman, OH; and eight grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, Betty is preceded in death by one son, David Richardson. Visitation will be held on Fri. Jan 15th from 12:00 – 1:00 PM at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road, New Castle. All visitors are asked to adhere to the CDC guidelines in regards to wearing face masks and social distancing. There will be a private service held for the family. Burial will be at Graceland Cemetery, alongside her husband and son. Memorial contributions may be made to the City Rescue Mission, 319 S.
