Betty J. White, 93, formerly of Edinburg, passed away the afternoon of June 17, 2019 at Humility House Senior Living in Austintown, Ohio. Born October 25, 1925 in Washington, PA, she was the daughter of George and Icy (Burgess) McMasters. She was preceded in death on January 27, 2008 by her husband of 41 years, Robert E. White, whom she married on February 12, 1966. Betty was employed since 1981 as a waitress at the New Castle Country Club until her retirement at age 82. Betty loved to knit and used her talent to knit hats for children with cancer. She also enjoyed making ceramics in earlier years. She is survived by one brother, James Rosen of Washington, PA; two sisters, Alice DePoli of Washington, PA and Edna Mae Plants of Youngstown, Ohio; and one grandchild, along with several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by one adopted son, John E. McMasters; one brother, John E. McMasters; and two sisters, Florence Jean Rosen and Goldie Homes. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 6:00-8:00 p.m. and Friday from 10:00-11:00 a.m. at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road, New Castle. A funeral service will take place Friday at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Neil Appell officiating. Burial will be alongside her husband at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Brownsville, Ohio.
