Bobette Irene Knight, age 91 of Hermitage, formerly of New Castle, passed away Dec. 21, 2020 at Avalon Springs Place in Mercer, PA. Born June 30, 1929, in New Castle, she was the daughter of the late Hubert Claude and Clara Gail (Baird) Moore. On August 18, 1949, she married her beloved husband of 46 years, Joseph G. Knight. He preceded her in death on July 20, 1996. Bobette was a graduate of New Castle High School. After graduation, she took bookkeeping courses at New Castle College. She became a bookkeeper, for several organizations, in the New Castle Area. She was a past matron of O.E.S. #440, and Wimodausis organizations. She was also a 5 year past Mother Advisor of the New Castle Rainbow Council. She was a member of Faith Presbyterian Church in Sharon, PA. Bobette enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Mrs. Knight is survived by one daughter, Linda Gail Smolinsky and five grandchildren, Mark J. Smolinsky, Amber G. (Dr. John) Mercuro, Todd Smolinsky, Adam J. Knight, and Jared L. Knight. In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by one son, Gordon L. Knight and one sister, Claudette Eckles. Due to the health crisis effecting our community, there will be no visitation or services, at this time. Burial will be at Castleview Mausoleum. Arrangements have been entrusted to the R.
