Obituary

Bonnie Louise Proch, 77, of New Castle passed away the afternoon of January 29, 2017 at Northside Medical Center, Youngstown, Ohio. Born in New Castle on March 5, 1939, she was a daughter of John W. and Elma R. Jones White. On July 27, 1957 she married William Theodore Proch. He preceded her in death on July 20, 2015. A 1957 graduate of Shenango High School, Bonnie was a member of the Eagles Club, Challenges, and the Country Music Association and a former member of Shenango Township Lions Club. She enjoyed line dancing at Croton Methodist Church, boating, traveling, crocheting, making crafts, and reading. Most of all she loved spending time with her grandchildren. She was a former member of Holy Trinity Ukrainian Orthodox Church where she belonged to the Ukrainian Sisterhood. She was a member of St. Elias Orthodox Church. Survivors include two sons, Gary W. (Cheri) Proch of Parma, Ohio and Mark A. Proch of Springdale, PA; one daughter, Bonnie L. (Andrew) Bakes of Girard, Ohio; two sisters, Sandra (William) Jones of Florida and Eleanor (Richard) Schommer of Simi Valley, California; eight grandchildren, Keri Proch Daugherty, Matthew Proch, Zachary Proch, Kaitlyn Proch, Brandon Bakes, Melanie Bakes, Gabrielle Proch and Delaney Proch; and two great grandchildren, Ryan and Mason Daugherty. Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Peggy Chieze and Jacquelyne Rogers and a brother, James H. White. Visitation will be from 5:00-8:00 on Thursday at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road, New Castle. A Trisagion Service will be held at 7:45 pm on Thursday. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday at St. Elias Orthodox Church, 917 Lynn Street, New Castle with Father Kevin Long officiating. Burial will be in St. Nicholas Orthodox Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made in Bonnie's name to St. Elias Orthodox Church. Online condolences may be offered to the family at www.cunninghamfh.com.
