Bonny Jean Turner, age 63, of New Castle, passed away the evening of Jan. 12, 2024, at UPMC Passavant Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA.
Born Oct. 15, 1960, in New Castle, PA, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Patricia 'Pat' (Vaughn) Miller.
On Jun 27, 1998, she married her beloved husband of 25 years, Thomas Turner. He survives at home.
Bonny was a graduate of Ne-Ca-Hi. She earned her Associates Degree in statistics from BC3. A caring and thoughtful homemaker, Bonny always put her family first. She loved animals, painting, enjoyed taking walks with her husband, and was an avid Pittsburgh Penguins fan. One of Bonny's proudest achievements was her 23 years of sobriety, propelling her to become a leader, mentor, and sponsor, for AA, where she helped numerous people in recovery. Bonny had a strong Christian faith and was a member of Highland Presbyterian Church, for over 20 years.
In addition to her husband, Bonny is survived by two step-daughters, Brenda (Ken) Rouser of Edinburg, PA, and Amy (Tom) Pisano of New Castle, PA; one sister, Melanie (Mark) Turner of New Castle, PA; two nephews, Mark Turner, of Pulaski, PA, and Brian (Adelle) Turner, of New Castle, PA; one great-niece, Riley; six grandchildren, Brittany Hill of Edinburg, PA, Hunter Hill of Palm Harbor, FL, Devin Hill of Washington, D.C., Jase Rouser of Edinburg, PA, Grace Pisano and Olivia Pisano, both of New Castle, PA; and two great-grandchildren, Madi and Skyler.
Visitation will be held on Sat. Jan. 20th from 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road, New Castle.
A memorial service will take place immediately following visitation, at noon, with Rev. Jordan Rimmer, of Northminster Presbyterian Church officiating.
Memorial contributions may be offered to the Lawrence County Humane Society, P.O. Box 62, New Castle, PA, 16103.
