Cara L. Mooney, 31, of Classic Lane, New Castle, passed away the morning of May 5, 2012, at her residence after fighting a courageous battle against cancer.Cara was born in Seoul, Korea on June 23, 1980. She was a 1998 graduate of Neshannock High School and attended Youngstown State University and the Art Institute of Pittsburgh.She is survived by her parents, Dr. Edward and Malcena Mooney; one brother, Ryan Mooney of New Castle; her grandmother, Geneieve Link of Newport, VA; two sets of aunts and uncles, Jean and D.R. Sarver of Newport, VA and Oliver and Krista Link of Pembroke, VA.She was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Melvin Link, and her paternal grandparents, Ed and Jane Barrea Mooney.Visitation for Cara, will be held on Tuesday, May 8, 2012, from 4-8 p.m. at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc. 2429 Wilmington Road, New Castle, PA 16105A memorial service for Cara will be held on Wednesday, May 9, 2012, at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home conducted by The Rev. John Yergan of the First Baptist Church, New Castle.The family has asked that in lieu of flowers, contributions be made to Jameson Hospice of Lawrence County, 1211 Wilmington Ave, New Castle, PA 16105.
