Carol L. Campbell, age 78, of New Castle, went home to be with her Lord and Savior the morning of January 7, 2020. Born June 15, 1941, in New Castle, she was the daughter of Glenn and Martha (Dean) Sager. She married James R. Campbell on July 11, 1959. He preceded her in death on September 14, 2002. Carol was a 1959 graduate of Laurel High School. She was a homemaker/caretaker and enjoyed reading and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Carol started and led the ladies bible study at Grove Manor. She was a very active, life-long member of Unity Baptist Church where she was involved in the choir, flower committee, taught Sunday school, helped with the AWANA program, was a part of the ladies bible study and was a member of the Ladies Missionary Society. Carol is survived by one daughter, Lynne (Edward) Morrow of New Castle, two sons, Daniel (Linda) Campbell of Monaca, PA and David (Heather) Campbell of Middletown, Virginia, 8 grandchildren, Matthew, Joshua, Kathryn, Jamie, Samuel, Benjamin, James & Tiffany and twelve great grandchildren, Abigail, Lily, Owen, Emma, Greyson, Ella, Matisse, Julia, Ari, Finn, Geno and Maria. Along with her parents and husband, Carol was preceded in death by one brother, James Glenn Sager. Visitation will be held on Friday, January 10th from 4:00 – 7:00 pm and Sat. Jan. 11th from 10:00 – 11:00 am, at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road, New Castle. A funeral service will take place at the funeral home on Saturday, January 11th at 11:00 am with Rev. Gerald Caskey and Pastor Warren Sullivan officiating. Burial will be at Unity Baptist Cemetery.
