Carol Ann Flowers, age 84, of New Castle, passed away the late afternoon of July 19, 2022, at UPMC Jameson Hospital. Born July 26, 1937, in New Castle, she was the daughter of the late John Paul and Mary (Glass) Leckwart, Sr. Carol attended New Castle High School. For several years, she worked as a clerk for Isaly's and D & K Store. Before her retirement, she worked as a Home Health Aide. Carol loved to crochet, knit, play bingo, and play poker at the casinos. What Carol cherished above everything else, was the time she spent with her family visiting with them, at their homes. Carol was a member of Christian Missionary Alliance. Carol is survived by her five children, Gary Flowers, Diane (Wayne) Randall, Richard (Shirley) Flowers, Gayle Stillwagon and Harvey Flowers, Sr., all of New Castle; three sisters, Eleanor Campbell of Georgia, Ruth Pontius of South Carolina and June Weir of New Castle; eight grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren, and three great-great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Carol was preceded in death by her former spouse, Ralph Richard Flowers, brother, John Leckwart, Jr., sister Mary Lou Boughter, granddaughter Kelly Flowers, great grandson, Danny Nonnemacher, and son-in-law, Donny Stillwagon. Visitation will be held on Sat. July 23rd from 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road, New Castle. A service will follow immediately after visitation at the funeral home starting at 3:00 PM, with Pastor Curt Massey, of Freedom Church in New Middletown, Ohio, officiating.
