Carol A. Harlan, 84, of New Castle, passed away March 1, 2020 in New Castle.
Born in New Castle, March 4, 1935, she was the daughter of Herbert and Viola (Murphy) Ward.
Carol is survived by her husband of 66 years, Fred L. Harlan, whom she married August 14, 1953. Together they raised three wonderful children, daughter Sharon Ross and sons Fred J. Harlan and Scott (Brenda) Harlan. They grew up to love what she loved and to be faithful to each other and to God. She is also survived by one sister, Nancy (Jim) Mutter; 9 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Nadiene Ward; a son-in-law, Paul Ross; daughter-in-law Vicki Harlan; and great-grandson Jeremiah Simonette.
Having some health problems for may years, she still enjoyed her home, traveling, and most of all, their trailer at the Church of God campground in Emlenton, PA. Camp meeting was the highlight of her summer. Her children have since joined the campground with their own trailers to enjoy camp meeting with their families.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 3, from 5:00-7:00 and Wednesday, March 4, from 10:00-11:00 at the First Church of God, 12 W. Euclid Avenue, New Castle.
A funeral service will take place immediately following visitation Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. at the church with the Rev. William Hunley officiating.
Burial will be in Unity Baptist Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to First Church of God.
