Carol Roberta Lucky, 81, of New Castle, passed peacefully into eternity the morning of November 8, 2018 at Quality Life Services in New Castle. Born September 16, 1937 in Cleveland, Ohio, she was the daughter of Ernest and Mary (Kirol) Howarth. Carol married Charles C. Lucky on September 5, 1956, who survives. In earlier years, she was employed with the Pennsylvania Railroad in Cleveland where she worked in the payroll department. After taking time at home to raise her two children, she returned to work in the dietary department of the Almira Home in New Castle until its closing. She then took employment with the Greer House, later Clen-Moore Place, also in the dietary department. Carol was very artistic, especially with oil-based painting. She also enjoyed cooking, crocheting, crossword puzzles and reading. Carol was a faithful follower of Jesus Christ and professed her faith. She attended several churches over time. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her two sons, Charles (Betsy) Lucky of New Castle and Richard S. Lucky of Canfield, Ohio; and one sister, Denise Breyer of Charleston, SC. She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Randall Howarth, John Gender, and Joe Gender; and one sister, Irene Taylor. At her request, there will be no calling hours. A celebration of Carols life will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions can be made to St. Jude Childrens Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
