Carol "Joyce" Must passed away on September 17, 2023 at the age of 88. Joyce was born on July 15, 1935 in New Castle. She was the daughter of Myrtle and Henry McEwen, and was the youngest of seven children.

On August 29, 1958, Joyce married Thornton "Bud" Truman Must of New Castle, and they began their love story of 65 years together. Joyce's family and faith defined who she was. Her greatest joy was being Grammy and spending countless weekends with her three grandsons. She loved her church, Faith Country Chapel, where she served and attended regularly with her husband. In her younger years, she worked for Mellon Bank and Citizens until her retirement. Her favorite hobby was crafting and she used her talent as a weekly volunteer making and selling crafts to raise money for the Jameson Hospital Guild.

Joyce is survived by her husband, Bud, sons Alan (Joni) and Brian (Linda), grandsons Charlie (Sara), Blake and Will, and great grandson Thornton "Teddy" Must. She was preceded in death by her brothers Dale, Delbert, Gene and Art, and sister Janet Hunt. She is also survived by her sister Evelyn Smail, and many nieces and nephews whom she adored.

Friends and family will be received during visitation at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home, 2429 Wilmington Road, New Castle, on Wednesday, September 20, 2023, from 5-7 pm. The funeral will be held at 11 am on Thursday, September 21st, at the funeral home.
