Carol C. Orr, 90, formerly of Glenda Dr. New Castle, passed away April 28, 2015 at the Overlook Health and Rehab, New Wilmington, Pa. Born April 29, 1924 in Glenwillard Pa., she was the daughter of Howard B. and Gladys Wilson Cummings. She married Andrew Orr in 1944 and he preceded her in death June 10, 2011. Carol was a graduate of Moon Township High School, Slippery Rock University, and the Sewickley Valley School of Nursing. She was employed at Jameson Hospital as a registered nurse. In 1970 she retired as a kindergarten teacher at Northminster Presbyterian Church. Carol enjoyed bowling, golfing, and painting as well as volunteering with Jameson Guild. A faithful member of Northminster Presbyterian Church, she served as a deacon, elder, and was active in the Sarah Circle. Carol is survived by a son and a daughter-in-law, Barry Hugh Orr and his wife Ina of New Castle; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Joyce Paden, and Janet and Larry Verone, both of New Castle; 4 Grandchildren; 3 Great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Leslie Elaine Stewart; one brother and sister-in-law, H. Dale and Carmen Cummings; and one brother-in-law, Tom Paden. Visitation will be held on Saturday from 10 a.m. to noon at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc. 2429 Wilmington Road. A funeral service will take place immediately following visitation at noon at the funeral home with the Rev. Andrew Jillson officiating. Burial at Castleview Memorial Gardens.
