Carole L. Brown, age 85, of New Castle, PA, passed away the afternoon of March 25, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.
Born Aug. 18, 1939, in Youngstown, OH, she was the daughter of the late William and Nellie (Bennett) Leishman.
On Dec. 4, 1958, Carole married her beloved husband, Edward D. Brown. He preceded her in death on Feb. 16, 2016.
Carole was a graduate of Laurel High School. She worked as a home health aide, employed by Jameson Home Health, until her retirement. Crocheting and being a member of Betty's sewing group were some of her favorite hobbies. Carole was a faithful member of First United Brethren Church, where she loved to volunteer.
Survivors include one daughter, Penny Blair, of New Castle, PA; two sons, Randy L. (Dosie) Brown and James E. (Audrey) Brown, both of New Castle, PA; two brothers, Charles L. Llewellyn of CA, and Timothy Leonard of Phoenix, AZ; five grandchildren, James Brown of New Castle, PA, Kaetlyn Hermann of Huntsville, AL, Kimber Morgan of Chambersburg, PA, Cody Blair of Wampum, PA and Soabelle Brown of New Castle, PA; and two great-grandchildren, Ruah Morgan and Reece Morgan both of Chambersburg, PA.
In addition to her parents and husband, Carole was preceded in death by two sisters, Cecelia Stewart and Delolorz Brown and four brothers, D. Arnold Heisner, William Llewellyn, Robert Llewellyn and Dean Llewellyn.
Visitation will be held on Friday March 28th from 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM and Sat. March 29th from 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM, at First United Brethren Church, 1900 Eastbrook Road, New Castle, PA 16101.
A funeral service will take place, at the church on Sat., immediately following visitation, at 11:00 AM with Pastor Marc Stephenson, officiating.
Burial will be alongside her husband and Graceland Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be offered to First United Brethren Church, 1900 Eastbrook Road, New Castle, PA 16101.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the R. Cunningham Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road, New Castle.
